South Atrium Expansion construction to resume

May 131, 2014

Now that exams are over, South Atrium Expansion construction is scheduled to resume beginning Monday, 5/12. Please note the following important information: Contractors will work 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday for the foreseeable future. Aspects of the project will undoubtedly be loud. Construction will be halted on Commencement Day (Friday, 5/16). Changes have occurred in the Law Library in order to provide Library staff with temporary office space during construction. The Library main entrance has moved temporarily to the third floor of Rubloff, just off the corridor which leads to RB 339. The Circulation Desk is now just inside this new temporary main entrance. The Reference Area has moved to the third floor of the Library, just outside Government Documents. The Computer Lab, LexisNexis Lab and Westlaw Lab have all been taken offline. The Library print stations, which were in the Computer Lab, have been moved to the former Westlaw Lab space (L 324). Harry's Café will be closed the week of 5/12-5/16 while it is relocated temporarily to the Thorne Lobby Ticket Booth. The café will remain in this temporary location until the construction project is complete (expected completion February, 2015). Furniture has been removed from the Atrium and Tiegler Bridge, and will not be returned until late-August. A temporary lounge will be set up in Lowden Hall (LM 117) to serve in place of the Atrium during the summer. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move into the next phase of the South Atrium Expansion Project.
