Bartlit Center Trial Team wins Summit Cup Championship

October 276, 2017

Please join Professor Steven Lubet in congratulating Northwestern Pritzker’s Bartlit Center Trial Team on winning the Summit Cup championship at Denver University, in a competition held last weekend.

Our team of Emily Halter (3L), Brendan Gerdes (3L), Garrett Fields (3L), and Argie Mina (2L) went undefeated in an invitational field comprising the twelve top trial teams in the United States. In the five rounds of competition, our students defeated teams from Stetson Law School, Campbell University, the University of California, Davis, Florida State University, and American University.

In addition, Garrett Fields and Brendan Gerdes were named the two top advocates in the competition.

The Bartlit Center National Trial Team is coached by Richard Levin of the Levin Riback Law Group. Levin also coached our 2011 and 2017 National Trial Competition championship teams.

Winning the Summit Cup was a great achievement for Rick and our students, as it involved the eleven other schools with the best winning records from the past year. Of course, the greatest reward comes from the life-long skills our students acquire in the Bartlit Center program, but it is always great to win.
