Northwestern Law’s inaugural Transactional Lawyering Team won second place in the Midwest Regional Rounds for the Third Annual Transactional Lawyering Meet. The team will now advance to the national finals, which will be held at Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University in Philadelphia on March 29 and 30, 2012.
Ten teams competed in the Midwest regional meet which took place on February 17 in Kansas City. Students worked in teams of two to three to draft a transactional agreement and to negotiate its provisions with other student teams. Ben Liss JD’13, Brendan Reardon JD’13, and Doug Sayranian JD’13 represented Northwestern Law at the competition.
The Transactional Lawyering Meet is the premier competition for law students interested in transactional law. From the 60 teams participating at the regional level, 24 will advance to the National Meet.
