Festschrift to Honor Professor Redish

Professor RedishNorthwestern University School of Law and the Northwestern University Law Review will honor Professor Martin H. Redish with a festschrift in celebration of his 40th year on faculty and in recognition of his wide-ranging contributions to legal scholarship.

The symposium will be held at the Law School on March 30, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The day’s events will feature three academic panels which will discuss Professor Redish’s contributions to civil procedure, federal jurisdiction, and constitutional law. There will also be a luncheon panel featuring his former students who will contribute to a special tribute section of the symposium issue.

Redish, the Louis and Harriet Ancel Professor of Law and Public Policy at Northwestern Law, teaches and writes on the subjects of federal jurisdiction, civil procedure, and freedom of expression. In addition, he is senior counsel to the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP.  Redish is the author or co-author of more than 80 articles and 15 books. He has won the Robert Childres Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence, the Dean’s Teaching Award, the First Year Course Professor Award, and the Student Bar Association Faculty Appreciation Award at Northwestern Law.
