February 06, 2017

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law will celebrate the wide array of cultural traditions across our community with food, performances, and music from around the globe at the 12th annual Global Village celebration on Friday, February 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Law School Atrium.

This year, representatives from 29 countries and student organizations are participating, including: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cubs, France, Greece, India, Iran, Japan, Israel, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, the Black Law Student Association, the Bluhm Legal Clinic, the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, Southern Comfort, the Veterans Law Association, and the Women’s Leadership Coalition.

Adi Altshuler, director of international programs, helped create the Global Village event 12 years ago as a way to bring together LLM and JD communities and share the broad spectrum of cultures represented across the Law School. The event has continued to grow, drawing upward of 500 students, faculty, staff, and even Chicago-based foreign consuls.

Participants and guests are encouraged to share photos from the event on social media, using the hashtag #GV2017.
