Additional Bar Support Resources for Graduating JD Students
Throughout the past academic year, one of our top priorities has been continuing to build academic and bar support resources for students. In addition to launching our new Writing Lab, our Academic and Bar Support Working Group has been exploring further ways to enhance student resources.

We are excited to share that Kara Ingelhart (she/her) will be joining our faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Law and the inaugural director of the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s new LGBTQI+ Rights Clinic.

Linda and Jeffrey Hammes (JD ’85) Donate $1M to Establish the Hammes Family Scholarship
I am delighted to announce that Linda and Jeffrey Hammes (JD ’85) have generously committed $1 million to establish and fund the Hammes Family Scholarship, which will be used to provide scholarship support for students with demonstrated financial need and high academic achievement who are also of the first generation in their family to attend college.

With a huge congratulations to our remarkable 2023 graduates and thank you to our faculty, staff, and alumni who have supported them, we are delighted to share that Northwestern Pritzker Law is the #1 Go-To Law School in the country in Law.com’s 2024 Big Law report.

Update on Efforts to Support Our Community and Law School Working Group
As we shared in November 2023, I have created a working group comprised of members of the Law School’s Senior Leadership Team charged with developing concrete and constructive short- and longer-term programming that will help to increase understanding and combat hate. This working group launched in January 2024 and has been actively brainstorming ideas for programming that are consistent with these goals.

Following up on my recent message on our working group launch, I wanted to share some additional updates on some exciting new initiatives at the Law School and also our data from this past year on our historically strong outcomes in employment and admissions and impactful fundraising.

Law School Canceling Classes and Moving to Remote Operations on Friday, January 12th Due to Winter Storm
The National Weather Service is forecasting a winter storm beginning late tonight, Thursday, January 11th. Due to the likely significant impact on morning and evening commutes, the Law School is canceling classes and moving to remote operations for all staff.
