May 18, 2015

The Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art, in partnership with the Center on Wrongful Convictions (CWC) and Center for Capital Defense at Northwestern University School of Law, is hosting “Seen from Inside: Perspectives on Capital Punishment” on Tuesday, May 19 at 6 p.m.

The event is part of a series of public programming centered on the exhibit “The Last Supper: 600 Plates Illustrating Final Meals of U.S. Death Row Inmates,” which runs through August 9 at the Block Museum.

Through a series of acts, the event will look at the arc of the death penalty, from a capital case closing argument reenacted by Professor Rob Owen, to a conversation with an exonerated prisoner from death row with CWC intake attorney Sara Sommervold.

The event is free and open to the public. The Block Museum of Art is located at 40 Arts Circle Drive on Northwestern’s Evanston campus. For more information, visit www.blockmuseum.northwestern.edu.
