Northwestern Law Ranks #10 in U.S. News

March 14, 2017

Memo from Dean Daniel B. Rodriguez

This morning, U.S. News and World Report released its "Best Graduate Schools 2018 Rankings". I am pleased to share that Northwestern Law is ranked number 10 among law schools, up from number 12 over the past many years.

We all take pride in this news, as well as recent results from The National Law Journal and Vault highlighting our strength with “BigLaw” placements. Such good news serves to build momentum as we move forward with our long-term goals.

We have a strong and innovative Strategic Plan in place and we will remain focused on the objectives outlined therein. These include: enhancing our learning infrastructure; strengthening financial support for our students; modernizing legal education to address the interface of law, business, and technology; extending societal impact via creative public service and professional partnership initiatives; and engaging our alumni community in constructive ways. In the coming weeks, I will be issuing a progress report on the Strategic Plan.

Thanks to the accomplishments and commitment of our faculty, students, and staff, we have many reasons to be optimistic about our future.
