International Law
The following are requirements for the International Law concentration:
General
To complete the concentration a student must satisfy the required courses, earn an additional nine credit hours or more in courses approved as part of the concentration, and satisfy
the research writing requirement.
Required Courses
Students in the
International Law concentration must satisfactorily complete one course from among the basic courses in each of three curricular groups: Public
International Law, International Business Law, and Comparative Law. The Basic Courses shall be those approved as
such by the full-time faculty teaching in the concentration.
Additional Distribution Requirement
A student must satisfactorily complete an
additional nine credit hours or more in courses approved as part of the concentration. The full-time faculty
teaching in the concentration, in consultation with the dean or his/her delegate, shall approve such courses for
each academic year.
Research Requirement
A student must satisfactorily complete a substantial
research and writing experience within the concentration. This requirement may be satisfied by: (a) Completing an
approved Senior Research Project on a topic in international law. However, senior research may count
for no more than four of the nine hour additional course requirement within the concentration. (b) Completing
a 2- or 3-draft paper, or equivalent research project, in a seminar or course approved as part of the concentration.
