Comparative Competition/Antitrust Law

This course will cover the main elements of EU competition law in a comparison with US antitrust law, using Geradin and Elhauge, Global Antitrust Law and Economics as a basis. The course will have some historical depth and will chronicle how EU competition law has undergone significant evolution in the last two decades and how it has grown closer to US antitrust law or not. Of course, at a more normative level, the discussion will also extend to whether the two main antitrust/competition law systems worldwide should converge or whether there is room for divergent approaches.
