Contracts and Sales

This course introduces students to common law concepts of contracts, primarily using business contract cases. Students will learn how contracts are formed, how they are interpreted by a court, what constitutes a breach of a contract, and how damages for breach of contract are determined. The course will also introduce students to the special treatment of sales contract which are governed by the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) ¿ a statute adopted by all states in the U.S. Examining the UCC introduces students to the unique issues involved in interpreting a business law statute.
