Advanced Legal Research This course gives students a thorough grounding in the research skills needed by today's lawyers. The students will learn how to use advanced electronic and print resources and techniques to research case law, statutes, treaties, legislative histories, administrative law, and specialized legal research resources. The instruction emphasizes the development of coherent and efficient research strategies, including the successful integration of electronic and print research materials.
Evaluation: There is no final examination. Grading is based upon a final written project, several short research exercises, one small group presentation, and class participation.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of first-year legal research course or equivalent or permission of instructor.
