This course studies the effects of time and uncertainty on decision making. Topics include basic discounting techniques, stock and bond valuation, capital budgeting under certainty and uncertainty, asset pricing models, and efficient markets. Teaching Method: Lecture Text: Evaluation: Final Examination on the same evening the class meets in the week immediately following the last class. Prerequisites: Statistical Methods for Management Decisions, DECS 434 or equivalent is an ABSOLUTE prerequisite. Accounting for Decision-making and Microeconomics are recommended. All may be taken concurrently. The Finance Department, KGSM, may grant permission to waive these pre-requisite on email petition directly to the head of the Department. Schedule: This course meets on the ten week, quarter session. Classroom: The class meets in Weiboldt Hall. Classroom assignments are posted at the entrances to Weiboldt Hall at the beginning of the term Grading system: This course uses the Kellogg School of Management grading system of A, B, C, D, F.
