Employment Law This is a survey course exploring a broad range of common law and statutory doctrine affecting the rights of employees and employers in the contemporary labor market. The course will begin discussing the employment at will doctrine and common law incursions into this doctrine. It will then examine a range of federal antidiscrimination statutes including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Finally, as time permits, the course will conclude by examining some broader workplace regulatory schemes such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act
Evaluation: Course evaluation will be by a three hour, open-book examination.
