Expert Witness Workshop

This course will focus on the role of the expert witness at trial. It will start with a summary of the basic rules and applicable procedures, move through case studies showing both effective and ineffective expert presentations, and culminate with the students giving expert testimony (both direct and cross examination) in a mock trial setting. Themes will include how to present scientific evidence to a lay judge or jury to maximize credibility and persuasive impact. It is recommended (but not required) that students have taken the course in IP Litigation. For the Spring 2 session, this class will meet on April 3 and 17.
