Cross Training in Law and Business
Through our Law & Business Program, Northwestern Law provides a rich array of courses and other opportunities in the combined field of law and business. With an internationally renowned faculty drawn from the Law School as well as from the Kellogg School of Management and the Department of Economics, the program features a large array of curricular offerings. Most numerous are law courses in all business-related areas. Students seeking a structured legal curriculum in business are encouraged to pursue the certificate in Business Enterprise Concentration. As part of the Law School’s clinical program, the Small Business Opportunity Center teams law and Kellogg students to provide advice to small businesses.
The program includes many other activities in combination with the Kellogg School of Management, from cross-listed courses to joint degrees in law and business. Our joint JD-MBA degree, the largest program of its kind in the country, is offered for those obtaining their first law degree. Similarly, the LLM/Kellogg degree offers a certificate in business from Kellogg to those obtaining the master’s in law at the Law School.
Included also under the aegis of the Law & Business Program are numerous non-degree offerings. These include frequent programs in business-related areas presented by the Law School’s Corporate Counsel Institute, and executive education programs undertaken jointly by the Law School and Kellogg.
