Alumni Print Directory

Is this a legitimate project?
Yes. Northwestern Law has contracted with PCI: The Data Company (also known as Publishing Concepts) out of Dallas, Texas, to collect alumni information and to produce the 2012 Northwestern Law print directory. E-mails, postcards and calls you receive from PCI are sent on our behalf.

Where can I call to make an update?
Northwestern Law alumni may call Publishing Concepts (PCI) toll-free at 1-888-369-6252.

Why is Northwestern Law using an outside contractor to complete this project?
With a small staff, the Northwestern Law Office of Alumni Relations needs to use a professional company to ensure the Directory is complete, accurate and completed on time.

What will the e-mail request look like?
The e-mail you will receive will be sent from Julie Chin, Director of Alumni Relations via noreply@publishingconcepts.com. It will feature the Northwestern Law logo and an electronic signature.

If you receive any other suspicious e-mail messages requesting that you reply via e-mail to verify alumni information, these are likely scams. The only way the Northwestern Law is collecting updates for this project is through the toll-free number; the legitimate message will NOT ask you to reply via e-mail. Why do I need to update my information?

  1. Information changes quickly - mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, even practice areas, etc.
  2. This is a great way to help Northwestern Law ensure that your information is 100% up to date.
  3. The 2012 Northwestern Law alumni directory will be a permanent record of Northwestern University indicating who attended Northwestern Law and where alumni are in the world as of 2012.
  4. If will help you and your friends stay connected.

Who will be included in the directory?
The 2012 Northwestern Law Alumni Directory will contain all living Northwestern Law alumni. All graduates through Spring 2011 will be included.

How long do I have to make changes and still have them appear in the directory?
Any changes submitted before July 20, 2012, will be reflected in the directory.

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?
Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1-800-395-4724 or email customerservice@publishingconcepts.com, and they will take care of this for you.

When will I receive my directory?
The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in January 2012, the directories will be distributed in January 2013

I ordered a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, but I haven't received the post card requesting verification of my address.
For those who purchase a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, they will receive a postcard within 2 -3 weeks to go to the PCI website to initiate the voucher process by entering their name and user ID (shown on the postcard). Alternatively, the buyer can call our client services team toll free (also shown on the postcard).

After verifying your address you will receive a tri-fold voucher that initiates the receipt of the authorization code to make your travel arrangements.

The concept of the Voucher is:

  1. Book one flight through the voucher issuing travel agency and get a second companion ticket on that flight for free
  2. The Voucher is:
    1. Good for up to one year
    2. Good for domestic travel within the contiguous 48 states
    3. Good on 19 different airlines
    4. Black out dates do apply

Someone at PCI called me a few months ago about the alumni directory. I didn't place an order at the time, but I would like to now. Can I still do that?
If the directory has not yet been printed, you can still reserve a copy at the regular price. If the directory has already been printed, you can purchase a directory for $89.95 (while supplies last.)

Can I choose for some or all of my information to not be printed in the directory?
Absolutely. You may tell the caller what information you would prefer to have excluded when you call to update/verify your information. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk or to the Northwestern Law Alumni Association.

Can anyone purchase a directory?
The Northwestern Law Alumni Directory is available for sale only to Northwestern Law alumni.

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?
Northwestern Law has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

  1. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by Northwestern Law for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.
  2. The Directory will be made available only to alumni of Northwestern Law listed in the Directory. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to Northwestern Law any and all electronic files that have been supplied by Client or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.
