Miner Reception, 1

On Friday, March 7, 2003 the Law School commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Competition and honored the memory of the Honorable Julius H. Miner with a celebratory dinner. Forty years ago, Mrs. Judith Miner established a moot court competition in honor of her husband, District Court Judge Julius Miner. The competition has allowed teams of second-year students to sharpen their oral argumentation and brief-writing skills before panels of leading attorneys and members of the bench. Since its creation it has become a landmark program at the Law School and is a living tribute to the late jurist’s character and contributions to the legal profession.

Approximately 350 students packed Lincoln Hall to cheer on the finalists. The judges ruled in favor of Frank Dworak '05 and John Capone '05. Information on the competition can be found here.
