Bill joins the Career Strategy Center with a unique combination of experiences as a leader in the Law School Career Services industry and as a practitioner within private firm and public service settings. He is a 1988 graduate of Northwestern Law and joins us from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill where he was Assistant Dean for Career Services. After graduating from law school, Bill served as an Associate at Schiff Hardin & Waite, Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago Law Department, and Assistant Dean and Director of Career Services for John Marshall Law School. Bill has also assumed many leadership roles with the National Association for Law Placement and is currently on its Board of Directors. In addition to his law degree, Bill holds a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a Masters degree from Purdue University. He is also a talented musician with previous experience as a professional opera and musical theater singer.

Jennings joined the Center for Career Strategy at the beginning of 2006. He is originally from Virginia, and holds a B.A. from the College of William & Mary.

Dave brings to the Career Center a strong background in law school career service and legal practice. Immediately prior to joining Northwestern Law, Dave was the Director of Career Services at The John Marshall Law School. He also worked as a career counselor for The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law while completing an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Dave practiced law for six years, specializing in business transaction law at two Chicago law firms, and has public sector legal work experiences while in law school. In addition to his M.A., Dave holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa. Outside of the office, he presently serves as a director for the Public Interest Law Initiative and is an elected member of the National Association of Law Placement's Nominating Committee

Allison joined the Career Strategy Center's staff in 2004. After receiving her JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School, Allison clerked first for the Honorable Theresa L. Springmann, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Indiana and then for the Honorable Nan Nolan, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. Following her judicial clerkships, Allison worked as an Associate with Sanchez & Daniels in Chicago. Most recently she served as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Employment and Litigation Division of the City of Chicago Law Department. Allison is available for judicial clerkship advising, alum advising, and alternative/non-traditional career advising.

Mary Maher is the Career Advisor for both tax and international LLM Students. Mary is originally from Australia and she holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Sydney. She clerked for an Australian Federal Judge and then worked as an attorney specializing in labor and employment law at Baker & McKenzie in both the Sydney and Chicago offices. She is admitted to the bar in New South Wales, Australia and in New York. Mary received an LLM degree from the University of Chicago in 2003 and she joined the Career Strategy Center in February 2005.

Kelly received her B.A. in Communication from Virginia Tech, where she was active in Student Affairs. After graduating, she worked at Virginia Tech in the department of Continuing and Professional Education, planning conferences, short courses and symposiums for other university departments. Kelly is an active member of her College’s Alumni Advisory Board and enjoys freelance photojournalism. Kelly joined the Career Strategy Center in 2007.

Irene joins the Career Strategy Center after having worked as an Associate at Schwartz Cooper. Prior to joining Schwartz Cooper, Irene was an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Immediately after graduating from law school, Irene interned for a literary agent, and also worked for both large and small real estate companies. Irene received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1998, and her A.B. in Government from Harvard College in 1995.

Romeo graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Engineering at DeVry University Chicago in October 2004. Since then, he has done software programming and web design for various non-profit organizations including working at Methodist Hospital of Chicago in communications for a year. While at DeVry Romeo served as a lead student assistant for three years and was very active in academics, student life, and public interest. He has enjoyed his time as a volunteer with Chicago Public Schools, The Reality Cares Foundation, Center on Halsted, The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and even MTV. He joined the Career Strategy Center in July 2005.


Cindy Wilson

Prior to joining the law school in 2000, Cindy spent 10 years as a civil rights attorney and project director at the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. Cindy also worked for four years as a general litigator in a Chicago law firm and as a law clerk for the Honorable Justice Seymour Simon of the Illinois Supreme Court. Cindy is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the law school, teaching Ethics, Public Interest Practicum, and Pro Bono Theory and Practice. She is a 1986 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and a 1982 graduate of Knox College.
