Critical Race Theory

The Critical Race Theory Colloquium is part of a thriving social justice program at Northwestern University School of Law. Activities include the various centers of the Bluhm Legal Clinic, such as the Children and Family Justice Center, Center for International Human Rights, Center on Wrongful Convictions, and MacArthur Justice Center, the Public Interest Practicum, a Law and Social Policy Concentration, Public Interest Law Week, and the student-edited Journal of Law and Social Policy.

The Critical Race Theory Colloquium is an advanced seminar that brings together outside scholars, faculty from within and outside the Law School, and Northwestern students for discussion of cutting edge issues in Critical Race Theory. On alternating weeks, workshops will be held at which leading scholars from across the country will present papers growing out of their research in Critical Race Theory, with an exchange of views and comments on these working papers. Presenters will receive feedback and suggestions for how to expand or improve their research, and Northwestern Law students, faculty, and other attendees will gain a broader understanding of Critical Race Theory. These workshops will be attended by members of the Northwestern Law faculty, faculty from other schools and departments within and outside of Northwestern, and students enrolled in the course and other interested students.

The Colloquium has been organized by Professors Dorothy Roberts and Len Rubinowitz. It will take place on Monday afternoons at 4 p.m. in the Rubloff Building, Room 175.
