E-mails and Listservs
Generally, we discourage* the use of listserv e-mails and ask that you instead use and check Esqwire or the morning e-mail for events and announcements. However, should you find it necessary to e-mail a listserv, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- No listserv e-mail should be sent until the event or announcement has been posted on EsqwireCentral.
- Faculty and staff must use the Northwestern Law banner when sending mass e-mail announcements to internal audiences. Contact the Communications department, law-communications@law.northwestern.edu, for a copy of the banner and instructions on how to include it in e-mails.
- Messages that are of interest only to certain members should be sent ONLY to the relevant group listservs, not the entire school.
- Only Northwestern Law-related announcements should be sent via listserv e-mails. All other announcements should be sent to the open listservs or discussion lists.
- Listserv e-mails are limited to one per event/announcement.
*Remember: When an announcement or event is posted on Esqwire it will be automatically sent to the Law School community via the daily Northwestern Law Events and Announcements e-mail, so a listserv e-mail may not be necessary.
E-Briefs
Northwestern Law sends an e-mail newsletter once a month to the entire Law School community, including alumni. To have events and announcements included in E-briefs, they should first be posted on the News & Events page and/or Esqwire.
If you would like your event or announcement to be included in E-briefs, contact the Communications department law-communications@law.northwestern.edu.
