Trademarks and Unfair Competition The rise of the Internet and e-commerce has led to new forms of commercial deception, as well as domain name disputes and related trademark concerns. With an emphasis on on-line commerce and communications, this course examines the principles of commercial and consumer protection from deception, including trademark and other trade identity protection, misrepresentation, false advertising, and commercial disparagement, as well as the property-based principles of dilution, misappropriation, and right of publicity law. Course instructors authored the coursebook, and an on-line supplement will be available. There will be a 3 hour, open book final examination.
