Clinic Practice: Juvenile Justice This clinic section will provide students with an opportunity to represent children charged with crimes in juvenile and criminal court as well as children serving sentences ¿ in prison, on parole ¿ who still require advocacy and assistance. Covering every aspect of juvenile defense work, this section will allow students to develop investigation and trial skills, learn first-hand about the criminal justice system and take an active role in court proceedings. (Second year students will be able to represent clients at administrative hearings.) This class will also provide a great deal of client interaction as well as opportunities to work on policies affecting the juvenile justice system.
Second year students earn 3.0 credits. Third year students earn 4.0 credits.
Enrollment is limited to JD candidates.
