Commercial Law: Sales and Leases of Goods A survey of the law of Sales and Leases of goods (under Articles 2 and 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code). Topics to be covered include scope of Articles 2 and 2A, contract formation, statute of fauds, parol evidence, warranties (including Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), performance and breach (acceptance, rejection, revocation ) , risk of loss and remedies.
Teaching methods: Course will be taught through the use of problems designed to develop an understanding of the basic transactions and the skills needed to
work with a commercial code. Current developments in the amendment and interpretation of Articles 2 and 2A will be discussed.
Evalutaion: The final grade will be determined on the basis of a 3-hour open-book final exam. Class attendance, participation and preparation will be a factor in determining the final grade.
