This course examines international investments, and in so doing, focuses on the national authorities, multilateral organizations and inter-governmental institutions that regulate international finance. The study is organized conceptually around various markets: the capital and banking markets of the United States, Europe and Japan; the infrastructure of capital markets; financial instruments and offshore markets; and, emerging markets. Participants in these various international financial markets include suppliers and users of funds, as well as the banks and securities companies who intermediate between such suppliers and users.
