Mathematical Methods for Management Decisions [Kellogg]

The basic concepts and tools of probability and statistics are introduced in this course. The first part covers sample spaces, elementary probability laws, probability revision, and decision trees. Probability distributions, measures of central tendency and dispersion, and correlation are covered in the second part. The last part introduces the statistical notions of point estimation, interval estimation and hypothesis testing. Schedule: This course will be taught in the 10 week quarter session Special Note: Students may enroll in this class or Statistics for Lawyers,when offerred, but not both. Evaluation: Final Examination on the same evening the class meets in the week following the conclusion of classes. Classroom: This course will be taught in Weiboldt Hall. Classroom assignments are posted at the entrances to Weiboldt Hall at the beginning of the term. Grading will be on the KSM basis of A, B, C, D, and F. Text: Teaching Method: Prerequisites: None
