2002 NORTHWESTERN ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
Two Law School alumni are among this year's recipients of the 2002 Northwestern
Alumni Association (NAA) Awards. Vicki Vallen Hood (WCAS74, L77, KSM77)
will receive the Alumni Service Award for outstanding service to the University,
and Don H. Reuben (EB49, L52) will receive an Alumni Merit Award for high
achievements in a profession or field of endeavor. The annual NAA Awards
Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002, at the Four Seasons Hotel
in Chicago. Congratulations, Vicki and Don!
NORTHWESTERN LAW STUDENTS AWARDED NATIONAL PUBLIC INTEREST LAW FELLOWSHIPS
Northwestern Law students Eloise Lawrence, Ashley Wells, and Melissa Wemstrom
have been awarded prestigious Skadden and NAPIL public interest fellowships
for 2002.

SPRING 2002 VISITING PROFESSORS
David L. Cameron, a Professor at Willamette University College of Law,
will teach courses in taxation at Northwestern Law in the spring. He earned
his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his JD from
Northwestern.
John Oldham McGinnis, a Professor at the Cardozo School of Law, will teach sections of Constitutional Law and International Trade at Northwestern Law in the spring. John earned his BA and JD from Harvard University and his MA from Oxford University.
DANIEL R. FISCHEL TO VISIT NORTHWESTERN LAW
Daniel R. Fischel, the Lee and Brena Freeman Professor of Law and Business
at the University of Chicago Law School, will hold a visiting chair at
Northwestern Law for the 2002-2003 academic year.

29th ANNUAL SECURITIES REGULATION INSTITUTE
On January 23-25, 2002 in Coronado, California, leading SEC officials
and practitioners from law and investment firms will participate in a
timely analysis of recent laws and developments in the securities law
field.

NEW "LAWYER AS PROBLEM SOLVER" CONFERENCE FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
On January 25, 2002, at the Westin Hotel in Chicago, Northwestern University
Law School will host the first annual "Lawyer as Problem Solver Conference"
for all first-year students. This innovative all-day conference will cover
conflict management, team building, negotiation, creative problem solving,
interviewing, counseling, ethics, and written communication skills. To

JUDGES NEEDED FOR UNDERGRATUATE MOCK TRIAL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Northwestern Undergraduate Mock Trial Team, which is coached by current
law students, is hosting a National Mock Trial Invitational Tournament
on Saturday and Sunday January 19th and 20th at the Daley Center in Chicago.
