Students Help Low-Income Earners Get Returns
In a public service partnership with nonprofit organization Tax Assistance Program (TAP), more than 100 Northwestern Law students have trained as volunteers to offer free tax preparation assistance to low-income families in Chicago. Students will spend at least 13 hours over three Saturdays to help families file their taxes and get financial aid for their children's schools. Since its inception in 1994, TAP has generated $70 million in financial benefits for 47,000 low-income families across the Chicago metropolitan area. To become a volunteer, contact TAP.
