Ceremony Celebrates Endowed Chair Appointments
An appointment to an endowed chair is the highlight of an academic career, and these important positions help Northwestern Law attract and retain faculty who set us apart. Alumni, faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend a ceremony and reception on April 11 at noon to celebrate the installation of Lee Epstein as the Beatrice Kuhn Professor of Law, Andrew Koppelman as the John Paul Stevens Professor of Law, Steven Lubet as the Edna B. and Ednyfed H. Williams Professor of Law, and David J. Scheffer as the Mayer Brown/Robert A. Helman Professor of Law. More…


SFPIF Honors Alumni at 5th Annual Public Service Dinner
Jeanne Bishop (JD ’84), Chuck Hogren (JD ’61), and Carter Phillips (JD ’77) will receive recognition for their commitment to public interest work at the 5th Annual Student Funded Public Interest Fellowship (SFPIF) Public Service Benefit Dinner. Symposium Explores Welfare Reform
The Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy presents the symposium “Ten Years After Welfare Reform: Making Work Pay” on April 4. The symposium explores the need for improved work and income support, such as child and health care, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. Panelists will evaluate the history of welfare and propose alternative methods of reform. Participants, who may earn 3.5 CLE credits, must register by March 31 at welfaretowork@law.northwestern.edu.
