![]() Robert C. Post, David Boies Professor of Law at Yale Law School, presents this year’s Julius Rosenthal Foundation Lecture Series April 16-18. In the three-part lecture series, Post will discuss interpretations of the First Amendment, its relation to the creation and circulation of knowledge, and the constitutional protections for academic freedom. Alumni, students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend this free event, which takes place in Rubloff 150. More… Former Judge Eugene Pincham (JD ’50) dies at age 82 R. Eugene Pincham (JD ’50), a beloved and active member of the Northwestern Law community, passed away April 3. He was 82 years old. Justice Pincham practiced law for 25 years, primarily with the firm that became Evins, Pincham, Fowlkes & Cooper. He became a Circuit Court judge in 1976, where he served until 1984. He went on to become a justice of the Illinois Appellate Court. Justice Pincham continued to practice law and was a lecturer at several universities after retiring from the bench. He was an active member of the Northwestern Law alumni community and a loyal supporter of Law School events and activities. He made significant contributions to the Black Law Students Association, including serving as the honorary chair of the Harold Washington Commemorative Year event this past February. Ending the U.S. Health Care Crisis: Reforming Health Care in 2008 On April 11, Northwestern Law and the Feinberg School of Medicine host Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.), lead sponsor of “The U.S. National Health Insurance Act,” for his address, “Health Care Reform in the United States in 2008.” Alumni, students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the free event, which takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Hughes Auditorium, Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center, 303 E. Superior. A reception in Rubloff Atrium for Northwestern’s law and medical communities precedes the discussion.
