In the spirit of making connections in 2011, the Northwestern Law Alumni Association will host a Young Alumni Happy Hour in San Francisco, California, on Wednesday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bar 1915 in San Francisco's Union Square. This event is open to all alumni in the Bay Area; come out and meet alums who are new to the area, as well as those who have called San Francisco their home for years! Visit our registration page to RSVP.
This year reserved space has been set aside for alumni to attend the Ray Garrett Jr. Corporate and Securities Law Institute at a discounted rate. This conference will take place on April 28 and 29 at the Law School and is the only Midwest conference that brings together senior officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission and leading securities practitioners. When registering online for this event, enter "alumni" in the discount code box upon checkout. Please e-mail Professional Education with any questions. This offer does not apply to Firm Affiliates of the Garrett Institute.

The Northwestern Law Black Law Students Association invite you to join them on April 15 at 6 p.m. to celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of graduating BLSA members. Come show your support as Northwestern Law takes on University of Chicago Law in the first annual Crosstown Cup, a basketball fundraiser, on April 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Solheim Center at 930 N. Wells. The game, which will raise money for public interest scholarships, will unite the familiar rivals for the first time ever on the hardwood, as well as bring together hundreds of students, faculty, and alumni from these two top law schools. Tickets can be purchased for $15 in advance by emailing courtcup@gmail.com or for $25 at the door. All proceeds will help provide scholarships to Northwestern and University of Chicago students who spend their summers working in the public interest.
Are you interested in helping current Northwestern Law students? The Alumni Advisory Program and the Alumni Summer Coaching Program are two great ways to assist current Northwestern Law students. The Alumni Advisory Program is an informational/networking tool for students seeking guidance as they explore career options. Students can contact volunteer advisors via e-mail exchanges or informational interviews and can ask questions about particular practice areas, discuss market trends, or obtain valuable career advice. The Alumni Summer Coaching Program pairs current Northwestern Law students with alumni participants located in the same city for a mock interview during summer 2011. The program is also an opportunity for employers to boost their visibility with students prior to the fall recruiting season. Anyone interested in participating in either program should contact Puja Singh Patel.
