U.S. Attorney General Delivers Major Policy Speech at Northwestern LawProfessor Marty Redish Honored in Law School Symposium
The Law School along with the Northwestern University Law Review recently honored Professor Marty Redish with a festschrift in celebration of his 40th year on faculty and in recognition of his wide-ranging contributions to legal scholarship. The day's events featured three academic panels which discussed Professor Redish's contributions to civil procedure, federal jurisdiction, and constitutional law. Read more...

Northwestern Entrepreneurs Win Grand Prize in Rice Business Plan Competition
A team of Northwestern entrepreneurs – including two JD-MBA students – won the grand prize and three major awards worth a total of approximately $875,000 in the 2012 Rice Business Plan Competition held April 12 - 14. The winning team, NuMat Technologies, includes Northwestern Law students Ben Hernandez JD-MBA '13 and Tabrez Ebrahim JD-MBA '13, McCormick School of Engineering student Chris Wilmer, and Northwestern chemistry professor Omar Fahra. Hernandez serves as NuMat's chief executive officer, and Ebrahim serves as chief operating officer. Read More...

Law Alumni Honored by the Northwestern Alumni Association
Two Northwestern Law alumni were among the 19 outstanding individuals honored for their professional and personal achievements and dedication to Northwestern University at the 79th annual Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA) Alumni Awards ceremony on March 3, 2012. Thomas Hayward Jr. JD '65 received the Alumni Medal, the top award bestowed by the association, and Michael Pope JD '69 received an Alumni Merit Award. Read more...

Center on Wrongful Convictions Wins Murrow Award
The Center on Wrongful Convictions (CWC) and the Better Government Association (BGA) are the recipients of the Radio and Television Digital News Association's prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. The award, which honors outstanding achievements in electronic journalism, was granted to the CWC and BGA for a 2011 investigation, "The High Cost of Wrongful Convictions," which exposed the human and financial toll of alleged government and police misconduct that led to 85 people being wrongfully incarcerated for violent crimes they did not commit. Northwestern Law Announces Smallest Tuition Increase in 40 years
In the Law School's smallest percentage increase in 40 years, tuition next year will increase by a mere 3 percent. This is an increase that coincides closely with current and recent measures of inflation. According to Dean Dan Rodriguez, the limited increase took into consideration the changing legal market and the present challenges facing our students and alumni. Read more...
