Japan's High Court Accepts Amicus Brief from Center on Wrongful Convictions
Northwestern Law Professor Steve Drizin (pictured at left) and the Center on Wrongful Convictions recently persuaded the Supreme Court of Japan to accept its first amicus brief from an American legal organization. The Center's amicus brief, filed in a death penalty case, provides the Supreme Court of Japan with the newest perspectives from the United States regarding methods of interrogation that lead to false confessions. Graduation Convocation is May 16

The Law School will hold its graduation convocation at 1 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Arie Crown Theater, McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago. The class of 2008 includes 243 candidates for JD degrees and 22 candidates for joint JD-MBA degrees from the School of Law and the Kellogg School of Management. There are also five candidates for Masters of Studies in Law; 74 candidates for LLM degrees; 31 candidates for the LLM degree and certificate in business administration from Kellogg; 42 candidates for LLM degrees in taxation, and 10 candidates for LLM degrees in human rights. Other degrees include those in the Executive LLM Programs in Seoul (15), Madrid (9) and Tel Aviv (37).

Gearing Up for Reunion – Save the Date!
Members from the classes of 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2003 return to campus for Reunion Weekend on Oct. 3 and 4. The weekend will include an elegant evening with live music, dancing, and fabulous food.
