Mark R. Walter (JD '85), chairman and controlling owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, addressed the class of 2013 as the keynote alumni speaker at the 153rd Law School graduation convocation on Friday, May 17, at the Chicago Theater. In a brief address to the students, Walter offered advice for success based on his long career in business and outlined practical knowledge aimed to motivate the new graduating class, who now join a network of more than 13,000 Law School alumni.

Law School Receives $3 Million Gift from Howard and Elizabeth Chapman

Northwestern Team Wins Big at Business Plan Competition
A team of Northwestern University student entrepreneurs, which included two law students, won more than $230,000 in cash and business services and $41,300 worth of in-kind awards after placing second overall and first in the Live Science sector of the 2013 Rice University Business Plan Competition—a graduate-level competition where students from around the world pitch their ideas to venture capitalists and industry experts. The team, BriteSeed, includes Northwestern Law students Muneeb Bokhari (JD '12) and Jonathan Gunn (JD '13), McCormick School of Engineering student Mayank Vijayvergia, and Feinberg School of Medicine student Paul Fehrenbacher.
