NEW DIRECTOR AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS
In June the Law School bid farewell to Director Nicole Elston who accepted
a position as Director of Major Gifts for St. Edward's University in Austin,
Texas. During the past three years with the Law School, Nicole served with
distinction in both Alumni Relations and Major Gifts. We will miss Nicole,
but wish her all of the best in her new endeavor.
We are pleased to announce that Shay Owens will take over as the Director
of Alumni Relations beginning in July. Shay joined Northwestern University's
central Department of Alumni Relations in February, 2001. As Assistant Director
for Young Alumni and Clubs, she has done an outstanding job of volunteer
management for many regional clubs and NUBAA (NU Black Alumni Association),
while developing Young Alumni chapters and standards around the country.
Previously, she spent six years in marketing and public relations with State
Farm Insurance and Chicago Women in Trades.
We are also pleased to welcome Deirdre Norman to the Law School's Alumni
Relations Office as Assistant Director. Dee Dee comes to us from Madeira
School in Virginia, where she served as the Headmistress' Chief of Staff
for the past two years.
