LAW SCHOOL AND MEDILL LAUNCH NEW JOINT PROGRAM IN JOURNALISM AND LEGAL STUDIES
One need only look at the complexity of stories on wrongful convictions, election disputes, and First Amendment issues
post September 11 to understand the need for deeper legal reporting expertise. Northwestern Law and Medill School
of Journalism are now accepting applications to a joint law and journalism program (Master of Science in Journalism
and Master of Studies in Law) aimed at improving legal affairs reporting. For more information, click

STUDENTS PLAN 2nd ANNUAL LATINO HERITAGE WEEK
Academics, attorneys, and public officials will discuss topics such as growth in Inter-American Free Trade areas,
police misconduct, minorities serving minorities in the public interest, and the formation of the United Farm Workers'
Union. The week-long program, which takes place October 24-31, was organized by the Latino Law Students Association
and made possible with the generous contributions of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, and Baker & McKenzie and several

Florida public defenders Ann E. Finnel and Patrick McGuinness, who were featured in the Academy Award-winning
documentary "Murder on a Sunday Morning," will deliver the keynote address at the annual benefit dinner for the Center
on Wrongful Convictions.
