Welcome AlumniOregon Attorney General John Kroger to Deliver Pope & John Lecture (CLE Credit Available)
Legal professionals may earn one hour of Illinois professionalism credit by attending the Pope & John Lecture Series on Professionalism, which takes place this year at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7 in Lincoln Hall. John Kroger, attorney general of Oregon, will deliver this year’s lecture, titled "Prosecutorial Ethics: Challenges From the Front Lines." Justice Ginsburg Visits Northwestern Law
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg visited Northwestern Law September 14-15 as the Howard J. Trienens Visiting Judicial Scholar, providing students and faculty with perspectives on the judicial process and contemporary legal issues. Her September 15 discussion aired on C-SPAN's America & the Courts program on September 26 and is now available on the C-SPAN web site. Symposium Looks at Wrongful Convictions of Youth October 8
"Out of the Mouths of Babes: False Confessions and the Wrongful Convictions of Youth," a symposium at Northwestern Law, will feature the stories of individuals from around the country who were wrongfully arrested or convicted as youth. The symposium -- which will launch the Bluhm Legal Clinic's new Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth (CWCY) -- will feature a panel discussion of juvenile and criminal justice professionals. Alumni Community Day and Reunion Success
More than 300 alumni and friends attended Reunion events this past weekend (October 2-3). Alumni Community Day events included a cake-cutting ceremony celebrating Northwestern Law's 150th Anniversary.
