George Ryan to Speak at Capital Punishment Symposium
Former Illinois Gov. George Ryan will deliver a keynote address at Northwestern Law during a day-long symposium, sponsored by the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology, that will bring together a diverse group of professors and practitioners to discuss the impact of wrongful convictions on the capital punishment debate. Clinic Director Travels to Africa to Address Legal Aid Conference
Bluhm Legal Clinic Director Tom Geraghty and his wife, Diane, will participate in a conference on Legal Aid in Africa in Malawi, November 22 - 24. The conference is sponsored by Penal Reform International and will focus on methods of delivering legal aid to prisoners. Two Northwestern students will travel with Tom and Diane to record the conference proceedings. An article describing the work of the conference will be published in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology. More...
