In his recent announcement, Provost Dan Linzer announced that Kim Yuracko, associate dean for academics and professor of law, has agreed to serve as interim dean of the School of Law beginning in January 2011 and continuing until our new Dean arrives. The dean search committee has been formed, which Dorothy Roberts, Kirkland & Ellis Professor of Law, has agreed to chair. The University also has secured the services of the executive search firm of Russell Reynolds to assist with the search. The committee is now conducting a set of outreach meetings with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and other community members designed to solicit counsel on the desired attributes of the next dean. We invite you to forward the names of potential internal and external candidates for the deanship to the Committee for its consideration. All information will be treated confidentially. We anticipate that the search process will be conducted during the fall and spring semesters and we will provide you with periodic updates throughout.
