Edward D. Shapiro is an adjunct professor teaching the Negotiation Workshop. He is a principal at the Much Shelist law firm in Chicago and is Chair of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group. His practice focuses on the efficient prevention, management and resolution of disputes for commercial entities, organizations and individuals. Mr. Shapiro provides counseling and litigation representation in, among other areas, commercial, employment, securities, fraud, restrictive covenants, unfair competition, trade secrets, professional licensing, business dissolution, trusts and estates and real estate. He also represents physicians and physician practice groups before various administrative agencies, including the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, and in contract, non-compete and hospital privilege matters. Mr. Shapiro is also a mediator assisting individuals and businesses resolve their disputes. He also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Center for Conflict Resolution where he is a member of the Peer Review Committee and volunteers as a mediator and trainer. In addition, Mr. Shapiro is a past Board member for the Association for Conflict Resolution, and former Co-Chair of its Programming and Professional Development Committee. He is also past Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. He is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law.
