As part of the Thorne Renovation Project, tomorrow, Friday, February 3, 2017, there will be a concrete pour in the auditorium. The sidewalk just east of the 375 E. Chicago Avenue entrance to the Rubloff building will be closed from 8:00am until 4:00pm, but the entrance itself will remain open.
Chicago Campus Upcoming Construction Project
August 18, 2015 - Construction on Northwestern University’s Louis A. Simpson and Kimberly K. Querrey Biomedical Research Center is scheduled to begin in late August 2015. The construction site is located at 303 E. Superior, and will be contained within the lot between the existing Lurie Medical Research Center and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
Atrium Expansion Now Open
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Atrium Expansion, a three-story addition to the Law School’s Rubloff Atrium. The new space includes additional study areas; Savner Hall, a 25-seat classroom that incorporates state-of-the-art technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience; and an expanded café with more than 50 indoor and outdoor seating options.
The Law School and University Facilities Management teams partnered with architects from Holabird & Root, the firm that designed the Arthur Rubloff building, to create the addition. Construction began in February 2014.
View the videos below to learn more about the construction process and the vision for the completed space. The Atrium Expansion was also a featured project on our glass vendor's website.
