Computer & Software

When you arrive, there will be a computer set up for you with Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Adobe Reader. If you need additional software, talk to you supervisor. You can also check out a list of software that is available for staff use. 

A Law IT representative will be available to help you get set with logging into your computer, setting up email, and printing. Please contact Law IT to set up an appointment by phone 3-7000 or by email.

Getting Started 

• Activate your NetID.
• Register your cell phone for multifactor authentication.
• Some notes on creating strong passwords.
• Set up your Microsoft Exchange email account for Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS (using Outlook or Apple Mail).
• Create an email signature in Windows, or macOS. This can also be done using the Outlook Web App (OWA).
• Connect to the "Northwestern" wireless network with your laptop. If you need assistance, you can access the online instructions for macOS, Windows, iOS (iPhone/iPad), or Android.
• Subscribing to a listserv.
• Share your Exchange calendar for Windows, macOS.
