Student Opportunities

Law Students

Second- and third-year law students work with attorneys, a social worker, and affiliated professionals at the Children and Family Justice Center (CFJC), meeting with clients and researching legal issues. When students join CFJC’s team, they learn everything about the legal process from top to bottom:

  • How to conduct a pretrial investigation
  • Interviewing and counseling techniques
  • Negotiation tactics
  • Trial and post-trial litigation skills

Social Work Students

For social work students from local masters' level programs, CFJC provides an incredible learning opportunity as well. Enhance your academics by obtaining real world experience assisting CFJC’s lawyers and law students with interviewing clients, accessing community based services, and transitioning youth from incarceration to home.
