You must have your own Westlaw password in order to pull up a Westlaw document. Unless you already have Westlaw open on your computer, you will be asked to sign in at the Westlaw law school portal. Sign in as you normally would to use Westlaw, with either your eleven digit ID or the custom ID and password that you created. In some cases, you might be routed to the general Westlaw sign-in page, particularly if you recently logged off of Westlaw. The main thing to know about the general Westlaw sign-in is that you must enter something in the Client ID box, but it can be any text of your choosing. As long as you enter some text for Client ID, you can log in as you normally would. Either enter your eleven digit ID or your custom ID and password. To use your custom ID and password, you might have to click on " to sign on using your own Username and Password."
