Course ReservesStudentsPrint ReservesTo find complete course reserve listings and item information search by instructor, department, or course under NUcat’s Course Reserve tab. Please bring the call number to the library circulation/reserves desk. Reserve materials may be charged out for four hour intervals and may be taken out of the library facility. Electronic Course MaterialsElectronic reserves and course materials are accessible through the course's Blackboard site. TextbooksIn general the library does not put a current course's textbooks on reserve. All print items on reserve are listed in NUcat under the Course Reserve tab. Inquiries about specific items should be directed to the course’s instructor. FacultyCourse ReservesThe library offers a comprehensive reserve service to support your instruction. Library materials, instructors’ personal copies of books, print copies of articles, and videos may be placed on reserve behind the library circulation desk for students. Electronic DocumentsIn addition to this print reserve service the library offers a scanning and digitization service to faculty. Articles, book chapters, cases, and other materials can be digitized in order to be posted to Blackboard. We also provide instruction in Blackboard and document posting for you or your faculty assistant. We will make your electronic documents available either through links to databases licensed by Northwestern or through links to scanned electronic copies stored on library servers. SubmissionsUse the library’s course reserve submissions form to request materials. Include your name, complete course name, and complete citations. If you prefer you may send a working syllabus directly to LawReserves@law.northwestern.edu. If the library owns the item we put it on reserve until the end of the semester. If the library does not, we will attempt to purchase the item. Please specify if you would like specific chapters digitized. You may drop off items to be digitized at the circulation desk. Please include course name, instructor, and accurate citation information. Please be aware that copyright guidelines and fair use policies restrict some materials from being placed on reserve. Allow up to one week of processing time for reserve materials. |
