Part of the library's collection development policy is that the library collects research materials to support student learning
in the full range of subjects offered by the Law School. Many of these resources are research and study aids written to
introduce legal topics and to assist with course study. They include treatises (such as the West "Hornbook" series) and brief
study guides (such as the West "Nutshell" series), and they can be located through the online catalog NUcat or by consultation
with a reference librarian.
However, the library does not collect or archive exam preparation materials, such as commercial outlines or student-prepared study
materials. The library recommends students use study materials with caution and consult with faculty for advice about how best to learn the material presented in each
course. Students may want to contact the Academic Counseling department for advice about exam
preparation or outlines, in addition to law student organizations.
