Institute Preps In-house Counsel for New Federal Rules
Preparing in-house counsel to develop a corporate-wide approach to the federal judiciary's proposed rules governing electronic discovery is among the highlights of the 45th Annual Corporate Counsel Institute at Northwestern University School of Law.
Building on a well-established tradition of educating attorneys on current legal matters affecting business, the institute will help in-house counsel lead their organizations in addressing the challenges of the proposed rules, scheduled to take effect Dec. 1.
The institute will take place Sept. 28 and 29 at the School of Law, 375 E. Chicago Ave.
"This conference is designed by General Counsels from some of the nation's leading corporations,” said institute Chair Randy Mehrberg, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief legal officer for Exelon Corporation.. “The committee and I are proud to present our peers with an agenda which focuses on important legal issues we each experience in the corporate world today.”
The institute will provide tips for coping with outside activism; advice about responding to government investigations; and a report on current developments in the new executive compensation rules. The institute will also feature updates on securities law and the merger & acquisition landscape.
