| In the first year of operation, businesses face many crucial steps including
choosing entity, paying taxes, acquiring government licenses, and making
insurance decisions. As a way to service Chicagoland entrepreneurs, the
Northwestern Small Business Opportunity Center has prepared a one-hour
presentation that will cover these beginning business concerns.
The first presentation, cosponsored by the Asian American Alliance Small Business Development Center, took place on February 26 at the development center's office, 222 W. Cermak Road. A second outreach clinic that will be co-sponsored by the Korean American Bar Association and Korean American Community Services is scheduled for April 3. The Small Business Opportunity Center is a nonprofit, student-based clinical program affiliated with the Bluhm Legal Clinic. Through the commitment of the Law School, top attorneys and law students, the SBOC provides inexpensive legal services to entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations focusing on economic development in the Chicago area. |
