Alumni to be Honored for Public Service Work

Northwestern University School of Law's Student Funded Public Interest Fellowship Program (SFPIF) will honor three alumni for their outstanding contributions to public service and the legal community.

Patricia M. Logue (JD '86), senior counsel at Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund; Seymour Simon (JD '38), retired Illinois Supreme Court Justice and partner at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary; and the late Michael F. Lefkow (JD '66), civil rights attorney, will be recognized at SFPIF's Third Annual Public Service Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, April 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the School of Law, 357 East Chicago Avenue.

Tickets for the Benefit Dinner are $100 for individuals and $900 for tables of 10. All proceeds will go towards Len Rubinowitz Public Interest Fellowship Grants, which support students working in unpaid public interest internships over the summer. Last year, SFPIF raised more than $90,000, which enabled 45 students to work in public interest law summer internships.

SFPIF is a nonprofit organization run by students at the Law School. The grants are named in honor of Professor Len Rubinowitz for his contributions to and support of public interest law endeavors at the Law School and in the greater Chicago community.
