2. By mail: Mail your registration form from the program brochure to

    Northwestern University School of Law
    Attn: Executive & Professional Education

3. By fax: Fax your registration to 312-503-2930

STEP TWO: PAYMENT
Please mail your check made payable to “Northwestern University-CLE”, or include your credit card information (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) with your registration form. Your registration will be processed as soon as your form is received.

How is my registration confirmed?
You will receive a confirmation letter in the mail following the receipt of your registration. Confirmation letters are issued on a weekly basis until one week prior to the program, at which time they will be issued only upon request.

What if I need to cancel my registration?
In order to get a full refund of your tuition, written cancellations (fax or e-mail) must be received two weeks prior to the start of the program. Cancellations received after that date will be refunded minus a $250 administrative fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than one week prior to the program.

Can I split/share my registration?
No. We do not offer split registrations. If you can only attend part of the program, you are still considered a full registrant.

I cannot attend; can someone else take my place?
Yes, but only full substitutions. Substitutions must be made in writing (fax or e-mail) and received prior to the start of the program. On-site substitutions made without prior notification will be charged an additional administrative fee.

Do you offer group discounts?
Yes. Group discounts differ for each program, so please refer to your specific program brochure, available on this site, to find out the specific rate and number of participants required. Groups are strongly encouraged to register together or notify Northwestern Law that they are part of a group in order to take advantage of special rates.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do I get a receipt?
We accept payments in the following forms:
-Check made payable to “Northwestern University-CLE”
-Credit card: American Express, MasterCard, and Visa

You will receive a receipt reflecting your current payment status upon your arrival at the program.

Can I bring my payment with me?
Yes. We are able to process payments for programs held at Northwestern Law. Payments may also be collected at off-site programs but will not be processed until our return to Chicago.

What is included in the cost of tuition?

One set of course materials (printed or CD-ROM) is included in the cost of tuition. Participants may choose to receive both forms for an additional fee. Tuition also covers breaks, lunches, receptions, and continental breakfasts during the course of the program. Please note: your hotel reservation is not included in your tuition.

Do you offer hotel discounts?
For all of our programs, we reserve a limited number of rooms at an area hotel at a reduced rate. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the special rate. Rates are available for a limited time and cannot be guaranteed after the cut-off date. Please refer to the program brochure or our Web site for details on the specific hotel chosen for each program.

If the hotel is booked, can you make another suggestion?
It is not uncommon for the discounted hotel to sell out during our programs. Participants are encouraged to reserve their hotel room as soon as possible. If the hotel is booked, you may contact us at (312) 503-8932 for a list of additional area hotels.

Where is Northwestern University School of Law located?
Northwestern University School of Law is located at 357 East Chicago Avenue (corner of Chicago and Lake Shore Drive) in downtown Chicago. All of our on-site programs are held in Thorne Auditorium, located just east of the main entrance at 375 East Chicago Avenue.

Is there parking available at Northwestern Law?
Due to a limited amount of parking at Northwestern Law, we cannot provide parking for our programs. There are a number of public garages in the area, although taking public transportation is encouraged. Click here for a campus map.

Can I take public transportation to Northwestern Law?
Yes. Chicago Transit Authority provides easy access to and from the airports and around the city via train, bus or taxi-cab. To view maps and train/bus schedules visit their Web site at www.transitchicago.com. We recommend using the “trip planner” to find the best route. You will need to take the “blue-line” train to get to the city from O’Hare airport and the “orange-line” train from Midway airport.

Where do I check in?
For all Chicago programs, check-in will take place in the lobby of Thorne Auditorium located at 375 East Chicago Avenue. For programs outside of Chicago, check-in will take place just outside the main meeting room. We will have signs to direct you.

What is the dress code?
The standard dress code for our programs is business casual. You may also want to bring a sweater or light jacket as meeting rooms can be chilly.

Can I receive messages while at the program?
We will retrieve telephone and fax messages for participants throughout the program and post them to a message board set up outside the meeting room. For programs held in Chicago, telephone messages may be left at (312) 503-8988 and faxes may be sent to (312) 503-5950. For programs held outside of Chicago, telephone messages may be left at (312) 503-8932. Please include the participant’s name clearly in the message. Unfortunately, we cannot interrupt the program to page participants.

Is there Internet access available at Northwestern Law?
Yes. Wired connection is available free of charge to participants who bring their own computers. It is not available in the meeting room itself. Wireless access is not available.

Will meals be provided?
We provide continental breakfast, full lunches and breaks. There may also be a reception with hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Participants are encouraged to attend, network, and continue the day’s discussions with fellow participants and speakers.

Will I receive the materials beforehand?
No. Materials will be distributed upon your arrival at the program.

Do you ship my materials home for me?
No. Since most programs’ materials consist of only one binder or CD-ROM, participants are asked to transport their materials home themselves. For the 3-binder Securities Regulation Institute, we do offer standard ground shipment of materials for non-local participants.

What is the difference between Printed Materials and CD-ROM?
Printed materials are inserted in a 3-ring binder handed out at the program that contains copies of all articles prepared by the speakers. Any materials received after the creation of the binder are distributed at the program. The CD-ROM is the electronic version of the printed materials and contains the same articles in PDF format. CD-ROMs do not contain audio files.

Are your courses approved for CLE credit in my state?
Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit is available for participants in many states with mandatory CLE requirements. Northwestern Law will apply for accreditation with these states on your behalf prior to the program. If we have not applied to your state, we will happily assist you in applying yourself and supply you with all the necessary documentation. Please see our Continuing Legal Education policy for more details.

Do you have a scholarship/financial hardship policy?
Yes. We offer full and partial financial assistance to our participants on a case-by-case basis. Please see our Scholarship/Financial Hardship section of this site for more details on who qualifies and how to apply.
